Fellowships
The Keasbey Memorial Foundation awards Keasbey Scholarships to seniors to support one or two years of graduate study at either Oxford, Cambridge, or the University of Edinburgh. Brown University is one of a select group of U.S. universities invited on a rotating basis, now once every two years, to nominate one or two candidates to the national competition. Brown has been invited again to participate in Fall 2025.

Eligibility
- U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
- Current senior who is on track to graduate by May 2026

How to Apply
Applying for a Keasbey Scholarship is a multi-stage process involving campus nomination for all prospective applicants. Interested students are encouraged to meet with a member of the Fellowships Team to explore the opportunity and receive feedback on their application materials.
1. Complete the Keasbey Scholarship UFunds application, including:
- Indication of a first choice and second choice course of study at Oxford, Cambridge, or the University of Edinburgh
- A two-page personal statement (single-spaced) summarizing your major academic interests and proposed course of study
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty members with whom you have worked closely
- A C.V.
- An official Brown University transcript
2. Submit your application through our UFunds online application system by the campus deadline of 11:59pm EST on October 17, 2025.
NOTE TO RECOMMENDERS: While UFunds lists the deadline as October 10, October 17 is the new campus deadline. Letters of recommendation are due by October 17, 2025.
Brown’s Keasbey Review Committee meets in October to review applications and select nominees. If you are nominated, you will:
- Meet with a fellowship advisor to discuss application logistics and committee feedback
- Submit your final application to the Fellowships Office via email (fellowships@brown.edu) by November 12, 2025.
The Fellowships Team will submit your application with an endorsement letter by the national deadline of 11:59pm EST on November 19, 2025.
Interviews for the Keasbey Scholarship are scheduled to take place on December 12, 2025. Nominees are expected to apply to their proposed course of study as well as their alternate course of study prior to their interviews for the Keasbey Scholarship.
