Fellowships
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program fosters an intentional multidisciplinary and multicultural community of future leaders at Stanford by providing funding for a graduate degree as well as cohort-based programming.
- What’s provided: The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program covers the full cost of the first three years of a graduate program (MA, PhD, MD, MBA, JD, MS, and others) at Stanford, a stipend for cost of living and academic materials, as well as airfare to and from Stanford. Additionally, Knight-Hennessy Scholars participate in three years of leadership training.

How to Apply
To apply for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program, students must submit an application by the national deadline (to be announced Summer 2026) as well as separately apply to their degree program at Stanford University. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program requires the following materials:
- A one-page resume
- A transcript, unofficial or official
- Test scores (as required by a graduate program)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Responses to three short-answer questions of varying word limits
- A “connect the dots” essay (550 words)
