Fellowships
Projects for Peace encourages students to design summer grassroots projects anywhere in the world that promote peace and inspire change. The program encourages recipients to develop innovative, community-centered, and scalable responses to the world’s most pressing issues. Each year, Brown is able to nominate one student and one alternate for this award.
- What’s provided: $10,000 of funding towards the project
- Location: Anywhere in the world, including in the U.S.
- Field of Study/Work/Focus Area/Industry: All
- Program Type: Project-based
- Duration: May through August
Eligibility
- Any class year
- U.S. or international students
- Students may be of any age, any major, or any year in school: this includes seniors who intend to complete their projects in the summer after graduation
- Students may implement the project alone or with others
While projects can be conducted anywhere in the world, we advise caution in developing projects in places deemed "high risk" by Brown's Office of Global Travel Operations. Please consult this website for more information.
Note: If you are nominated for Projects for Peace, funding disbursement and travel arrangements for projects conducted outside of the US are contingent on 1) review and assessment on travel advisories by Brown's Office of Global Travel Operations via TravelSafe and 2) adhering to a disbursement timeline to ensure timely delivery of funding for implementing the project.
